Record, transcribe and search your voice
Recorder captures voice memos, meetings and lectures, and keeps recording when you leave the app. It can turn recordings into searchable text right on your phone after a one-time model download.
Everything in Recorder.
Recording carries on if you leave the app, with pause and resume.
Tap the flag while recording, from the notification or while listening to mark a moment.
Turn recordings into text on the phone, automatically or when you tap Transcribe.
Search across your recording titles and transcripts.
Keep just the part you want or delete a section; bookmarks and transcript move with the audio.
Share the audio, the transcript with or without times, export a text file, or send it to Notes.
Standard or high-quality audio, with both microphones used for stereo where the phone allows.
Up and running in three steps.
- Tap the red button to start recording.
- Stop when you're done, and add bookmarks along the way.
- Open the recording to transcribe, trim, search or share it.
Recorder only uses the internet to download its speech model once (about 82 MB, checked before use); audio and transcripts never leave the phone.
Recorder questions.
01Which languages can it transcribe?
English works best, including Nigerian English and Pidgin written as English. Yoruba and Hausa are experimental, and Igbo isn't supported.
02Will the download use my mobile data?
Only if you allow it; otherwise it waits for Wi-Fi.
03Does trimming keep the original?
No. Trimming replaces the original and can't be undone.
