Spot scam links before they open
Link Checker checks every web link you tap in messages, WhatsApp, email and other apps before it opens. Safe links open straight away in your browser; scam links get a full-screen warning showing the real site.
Everything in Link Checker.
Each link is checked on the phone in a split second, then handed to your chosen browser.
Knows the real addresses of 42 banks, payment apps, government bodies and networks, and catches lookalikes and typos.
A full-screen warning offers Go to the real site, Go back, Report scam or Open anyway.
Finds where bit.ly and similar links lead, without opening the destination.
Paste a link from a message to see if it's safe, without opening it.
Reported links are blocked on your phone straight away and, once reviewed, for everyone on CubeOS.
Checks links against scams reported by others on CubeOS.
An optional Sunday-evening notification, only when a link was stopped that week.
Up and running in three steps.
- Let Link Checker open web links when asked.
- Tap links as usual; safe ones open in your browser.
- If you see a warning, go to the real site or report the scam.
Most checks happen on the phone; community lookups send only a 4-byte fragment of a scrambled address, safe links are only counted, and for stopped links only the site name, what it pretended to be and the source app are kept on the phone.
Link Checker questions.
01Does it slow my links down?
No. The on-device check typically takes under a millisecond, and a "Checking link" pill only appears after 300 ms.
02Does it work in Instagram, Facebook or TikTok?
Not inside their own in-app browsers, which don't hand links over. WhatsApp opens most links externally, so those are checked.
03Does it see where I browse?
No. Safe links are only counted per day, never recorded.
04Can I still open a flagged link?
Yes, with Open anyway, which asks you to confirm for dangerous links.
