Not with a whitepaper. With e-waste — the electronics Africa was burying — rebuilt by hand into appliances families could afford and actually trust.
In 2020, Egoras began buying the electronics nobody wanted and turning them into something valuable. Door-to-door agents. Radio adverts announcing their numbers so people could trust them. A factory where engineers grade every television, fridge, freezer, air conditioner and generator from A to E and rebuild it to work.
The first trade fair printed 1,500 tickets. More than 5,000 people showed up. Egoras products aren't second-hand: Grade A is as good as new, and every unit carries a warranty of up to one year.
Warrantied wealth out.
Six years later that floor refurbishes 100,000 products a year — and it became the thing no software startup can copy: real trust, earned in the physical world, one honest transaction at a time.
Then we built the whole machine beneath it.
