How it works

Every Naira is backed one for one.

Naira is only created when real naira comes in, and destroyed when it goes back out.

  1. Add money

You pay naira in from your bank or card.

  2. Minted one for one

The same amount of Naira, less the payment provider's fee, is created in your Cubeline's wallet.

  3. Send and gift

Pay any Cubeline or gift Naira in a chat. It settles on Cube Chain in seconds.

  4. Withdraw

Naira you withdraw is burned and paid to your bank account, less the payout fee.

Opening soon: adding money from a bank or card and withdrawing to a bank account are not switched on yet. The Naira contract is live on Cube Chain, and the wallet in Cube App is ready for when they open.
Built to be trusted

Simple rules, written in code.

Minted only on deposit

New Naira is created only when naira is paid in, so every NGN in circulation is matched by naira.

Burned on withdrawal

When you withdraw, the Naira is destroyed and the money is sent to your bank.

Failed payouts come back

If a bank payout fails, the Naira is minted back to your wallet rather than lost.

Emergency pause

The contract can be paused if something goes wrong, to protect everyone's balance.

Where you use it

Your Cubeline is your wallet.

In every chat

Send or gift Naira mid-conversation in Cube App. A gift bubble appears for the other person.

FAQ

Naira questions.

Your money, explained.

01Is one Naira always worth one naira?

Yes. Naira is only minted when naira is deposited and burned when it is withdrawn, so each NGN is matched one for one.

02Why does it have two decimals?

So it counts like real money: ₦1.00 is 100 kobo.

03Can I add money or withdraw today?

Not yet. Bank and card deposits and bank withdrawals are opening soon. The Naira contract and the wallet are already live.

04Are there fees?

The payment provider's fee comes off when you add money, and the payout fee when you withdraw. Sending Naira between Cubelines on Cube Chain needs no gas from you.

05Where can I see the contract?

On the developer page, with its address on Cube Chain.

Money, as easy as a message.

Get Cube App, spin your Cubeline and your Naira wallet comes with it.
